Freshmen Adjusting

Every year, incoming Canfield Business Honors students adjust to living on the forty acres. They take their first college classes, meet new people, and explore the world of McCombs. The Honors Business Association hosts events like Big-Little Kickoff, BHPickleball, and socials to help the new students adjust. Aditi Palavalli, a CSB freshman, says her favorite part of being in CBHP is “The community of peers with a shared passion for business and success.” We cannot wait to watch their continued success through their four years at the University of Texas!

Our HBA general meetings happen every other week, and we get to host and talk to outstanding companies and individuals. This semester, we have had six meetings hosting Dell, Bank of America, PwC, HEB, Flexpoint Consulting, and Dean Mills. These meetings are great ways for individuals to explore various fields and learn about different opportunities within these companies. In addition, HBA hosted our annual company dinner, which allowed students to meet and mingle with other companies throughout the evening.

Leadership Kickoff

Every year, the incoming CBHP freshman gets to experience leadership Kick-off! The weekend takes place in New Braunfels, Texas, at the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch. It is a weekend of team building, networking, and games. It was a great way for incoming first-year students to make new friends and become more comfortable with their peers.

Pickleball

This semester, HBA explored PickleBall! We had multiple events and competitions hosted throughout September and October. BHPickleball was a blast and a great way to meet new people in an informal setting. Peter Sall and Mikail Wijesekera won the title of 2023 Pickleball Champions! We can’t wait to continue the tradition next year!
